This Descent Journeys in the Dark collection features 2nd edition rules books and components as well as many 1st edition figures and conversion kit cards (no other 1st edition materials are included). The books and components are used, and there may be some wear on the figures, but everything is in really good shape: handled with care by non-smoker adults, all figures have been treated with a matte sealing spray, all components are accounted for - with the exception of a few used campaign record sheets from the notepad and perhaps a stray fatigue counter. I no longer have any of the original packaging for the core game or expansions, so all items in the collection have been bagged for shipping.
A note on my painting: technique and quality vary a bit by set, as this was a long ongoing hobby of mine, so the 2nd edition figures are a bit more detailed than the 1st edition figures. Generally speaking, with some exceptions where I spent a bit more time on shading and detail on select figures, I would say the figures are all of a good 'table quality' - which is to say, they look really good in pay on the table, but perhaps aren't quite up to professionally painted display case quality. For the most part, I stuck with the color schemes found in original game art - to make it easier to match figures with the stat cards. The rims of the bases are painted different colors to help identify the figures (gray for heroes, beige for normal monsters, red for master monsters, purple for lieutenants). I varied the color schemes slightly between normal and master monsters to help further distinguish them, and the master figures have more red tones than their normal equivalents. more photos of the painted figures.
