I have just received my P2 Max (yay!) so I thought I'd write up some initial impressions so those that haven't received theirs yet can prepare themselves.

The good:

Really nice feel; it's very high quality. Hinge, aesthetics, screen, etc are all a step up on earlier GPD computers (I own or have owned all of them)

The bad: Adobe indesign override master.

I can't get very far without it bluescreening; I'm currently trying to 'reset windows' (one of the troubleshooting options I get every other boot when it realises it didn't go well last time it tried to complete the windows setup process). Not sure yet if this is a software or hardware thing, but yeah. Not good.

For now, I'm in massive regret mode - my Pocket 2 didn't work at all, which gave me massive pause about backing the P2 Max, and it seems my fears might well be well-founded.

Edit 1: Believe it or not, I can't find a USB drive at work, so I can't do anything about the awesomely helpful /u/PeterCxy's suggestion (BIOS flash) for a few hours. I'll update when I can.

Edit 2: it worked!! The BIOS flash seems to have stabilized the system and I haven't had any more problems (windows is now fully installed, etc). Will keep tinkering then add some more impressions - including how well WoW classic runs (that's installing now).
